Winter Protection Without Foam Boards, Tar Paper or Mess

Insulating your hives shouldn't mean cutting foam, stapling tar paper, taping seams, and storing bulky pieces for the rest of the year. This wrap gives your hive strong winter protection with a much easier setup — and you can use it again next season.

Wrap it around the hive, secure the Velcro and buckles, and you're done. If the weather changes, you can take it off and put it back on in seconds.

The black outer layer is made from waterproof polyester fiber. It helps block rain and snow while the black surface absorbs heat from the sun. The inside has PE silver-coated cloth that helps reflect heat back toward the hive.

Two large buckles and two wide Velcro strips hold the wrap tight around the hive. No staples, tape, or loose foam panels. It stays secure through wind, rain, snow, and winter storms.

It’s designed to cover the most common Langstroth wintering setups. Both sizes fit 8-frame and 10-frame hives.

Standard: 76.8” × 18.1”

Extended: 76.8” × 24.8”

Standard and Extended winter beehive wraps with dimensions and compatible 8-frame and 10-frame Langstroth hive setups

The two wide Velcro strips make the wrap easy to adjust. Both sizes fit standard 8-frame and 10-frame Langstroth hives.

Your Bees Will Burn Less Honey

In winter, bees cluster together and burn stored honey to make heat. The colder it gets, the harder they work and the more honey they use.

Our 4-layer wrap slows heat loss and blocks cold wind that can disturb the cluster. This helps your girls stay warmer, work less, and burn less honey — preventing running out of food (starvation), and leaving more honey for spring harvest.

Open a Strong Hive This Spring

The goal is simple. Not just a colony that barely survived. A strong colony with honey left in spring. Give your girls more protection through winter and one less thing for you to worry about every time the temperature drops. Replacing a dead-out for $150+ in spring is not worth it.

Real Beekeeper. Real Hive. Real Proof.

See how simple it is to get a hive wrapped and ready before cold weather hits—without the foam board, tape, and annual hassle

Great hive wrap with extra secure straps.

Here is a great beehive wrap for those of us overwintering bees in colder climates. I have become a fan of these and feel I get a better survival rate for my bees with the extra wrap - which makes sense. You need a minimum colony size to maintain enough heat to keep your bees in a survivable state. The wrap helps let that number get a little lower with the added help keeping the hive a livable temperature through the deep winters in Michigan. Nice durable outside material with a reflective heat retaining inside, this unique hive wrap has added straps to secure it beyond the Velcro, which is nice, the wrap JUST fits around my 10 frame boxes. The extra strap clips well help ensure the wrap does not go anywhere over the winter. This wrap is the same size as most of my other wraps, but note it just fits height wise on my demo single deep and two medium boxes, which is taller than just two deep boxes. So if you only leave you bees with two deeps for the winter, this would be too tall. Great wrap quality and your bees will thank you!

If you keep bees in Canada, the insulation is top-notch, eh. I pair it with a quilt box for ultimate winter survival. Can't go wrong with this wrap.

Excellent value

Here in Saskatchewan, we need good insulation. it blocks the biting wind effectively. Takes just a minute to strap it on before the freezing rain hits. My girls are happy and warm.

Preparing for a Canadian winter is tough, but this is by far the best winter protection I've found so far. Highly recommended for any Canadian apiary.

Very durable

Living in Alberta means harsh winters, so this wrap is an absolute lifesaver. We had a massive snowstorm last month and the hive stayed totally dry. A must-have for northern beekeepers.

Great for Canadian winters

I bought this Delixo wrap before the first snow. it keeps the freezing moisture out and the heat locked in. No more worrying about condensation freezing the cluster. A must-have for northern beekeepers.

Well Constructed Bee Hive Wrap and It’s Re-usable!

I thought I would try this beehive wrap for winter. I work with 8-frame hive boxes in the Appalachia Mountains of Pennsylvania. Our winters are damp and cold. One of the biggest reasons for losses of my bees is condensation inside the hive. This usually occurs in late winter/early spring. This is the time when days can be warm for several days and then switch to very cold for several days. The bees cannot keep up and the inside of the hive “rains” down condensation which in turn drowns bees. I am hoping this wrap will help to keep the hive warm and even out the highs and lows that cause condensation inside the hive. The wrap is very nicely made. The construction reminds me of how a soft cooler is constructed. The wrap is waterproof and windproof. I like that it is reusable and easy to install (hook and loop closure). The materials are good quality. I am giving the product a 5 stars based on the construction, materials, ease of use, and ability to be reused. If I see positive results in bee survival, I will order more for the other hives.

Wraps nicely

So as a new beekeeper, I wanted to make sure I got everything that is necessary to start my first hive. I have large hives, deep and small, both honey and brood And wanted to make sure I kept them warm for the next winter season. This seems to wrap around my hives without any gap and definitely has the insulation to make sure that they can have some good heat retention The Velcro is strong and it seems to work from what I could tell

Just wrapped my colonies in Nova Scotia. this is by far the best winter protection I've found so far. The material didn't crack or stiffen in the sub-zero temps at all. Definitely a solid purchase.

As a beekeeper in BC, the velcro and buckles are heavy duty enough for winter. No more worrying about condensation freezing the cluster. Great value, I'll be buying more for next season.
